Craft Loaves of Focaccia and Parker House Rolls at The Art of Baking Bread on January 25th

Now is no time to swear off carbs! The Art of Baking Bread is coming to Schola, Baltimore’s local cooking school, on Thursday, January 25th. From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Schola’s team of in-house bakers will share the basics of baking bread and assist you as you craft five different loaves.

You’ll begin with a crash course on bread baking, starting with the types of leavening ingredients that are typically used and the variety of flours you can enlist, depending on the bread. Then you’ll learn more about the culinary techniques that result in fluffy slices and the best bread-baking ovens out there. After you have all the basic info, you actually get to bake your own bread. Irish soda bread, whole-grain bread, flatbread, focaccia, and Parker House rolls are all on the itinerary. The cost of the class is $49 and includes all of the ingredients for bread-baking.
